About
Born in Germany. Lived in Sweden. Now choosing slow life in rural Japan. My path was always unconventional, yet deeply aligned with what I love.

Who I am
From figure skating, ballet, karate, skiing and snowboarding to becoming a licensed skydiver with 300+ jumps in artistic freestyle.
For years, I thought I had it all: a career at Microsoft, a master's degree, and the freedom to pursue every hobby I loved. I made it all fit.
But only by fitting myself into the fast-paced hustle culture.
But looking back, some of those choices were genuinely mine and others were just what the next logical step looked like from the outside. I couldn't tell the difference anymore.
Life before
I hold a Master's degree in Informatics and Economics from Lund University in Sweden. After that, I worked five years at Microsoft. Growing, learning, and living the high-performance lifestyle. I travelled to 37+ countries, capturing the stillness I was quietly seeking … even in motion.
I lived fully, but fast. Always moving. Always achieving.
Until I learned: doing less can sometimes bring more.
The shift
Slow life isn't tied to a place. It's a mindset, a way of moving through the world. It's about making space for what actually matters and learning to trust that the quiet moments are enough.
Slow life is full life. You can't choose well if you're moving too fast to notice what you actually want. The pause was for making my life mine.
On purpose.
The vision
This started as something personal. Two questions I kept coming back to, across every decision I didn't regret. Eventually they became a framework, a book, and this space.
MIYZU isn't about Japan or countryside living, even though that's where I ended up. The questions work anywhere, for anyone who feels the gap between the life they built and the one they actually want.
Most frameworks tell you what to optimize for. These two questions do something different. They help you see what's actually yours, and what's just noise you've been carrying. This space is built for the in-between.
"Your life is yours to live. Thank you for being here."
Much love, Miy ❤️
